Hello! I am a writer and teacher, living in the Connecticut River Valley. My Creative Writing practice builds on the conviction that everyone has a voice, and everyone has stories. Informed by the work of Pat Schneider, I have brought Creative Writing programs to elementary and secondary classrooms, community organizations, and adult writing workshops – for over 35 years.
My publications include poetry, essays, and articles in literary journals, anthologies, and magazines. I am a recipient of numerous writing project grants, including: the Charles Moran Teacher Leadership Fellowship; the Massachusetts Migrant Education Program; and several State and City Cultural Councils.
Most recently, I have developed, co-written, and published a bilingual Teacher’s Manual, providing strategies for Creative Writing projects that build community, skills, and writing confidence for students in elementary and secondary settings.
I am currently writing a Creative Non-Fiction book drawing on my experiences with a remarkable group of teachers, specialists, and administrators who develop innovative ways to engage students and strengthen their communities through the school system.
